Coronavirus – Show Update

Cancellation of Christow Show 2021

Due to the ongoing pandemic and lack of clarity from the Government around holding events the Show Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s show.

We have every intention to be back on Saturday 20th August 2022 with a bigger and better show! We look for ward to seeing you then.

2020 Christow Show cancelled

ORGANISERS of the 2020 Christow and District Agricultural and Horticultural Show have announced the event’s cancellation due to uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 situation.

It was due to be staged on Saturday August 15 and would have been the 91st held in the picturesque Teign Valley.

The chosen charity for 2020 was the Exeter Support Group for the Royal Osteoporosis Society which will now be kept on for 2021.

Last year’s good cause, The Samaritans, received £1,000 towards their work in the area.

Show Committee Chairman Peter Preston said: ‘We are bitterly disappointed to have cancelled the show but it seems an impossible task to comply with the social distancing measures which could still be in place this August.

‘We know how much people look forward to coming each year but public health must be the number one priority.

’What we can promise is that planning for the 2021 show has already started and, all being well, it will take place on Saturday August 21.

‘So make it a date, put it in the diary and we’ll see you there.

‘Until then keep safe and do your bit to help our community bring an early end to this dreadful virus.’

The show’s Facebook page will carry all the latest news as will the website,
