Entries taken on the day from 12:00pm (entry desk in the Hall foye). Race starts at 1.30pm.
The Race
The start is at the car park entrance at 1:30pm. The finish is on the show ground, coming onto the field through the top entrance (i.e. by the shop) and running a celebratory circuit of the main ring. Children’s sports and sheaf pitching will be taking place in the ring at that time, but shouldn’t interfere with runners.
The terrain will be rough in places but as there is some tarmac, it is not suitable for spikes. All entrants will be briefed on the course prior to the start of the race and marshals positioned around the course.
There are cups for the winners in the following categories: men, ladies, and 12 – 16 years and rosettes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed runners in each category. Unfortunately, we are unable to give timed results.
There is no race entry fee but admission to the show ground is not included. Show ground entry is £8 for adults or £4 for under 16s . Please note that a family ticket is available for £20 (covers up to 2 adults and 3 children).
