Horse Classes

Unfortunately, due to the prolonged dry weather and resulting very hard ground, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the show jumping and working hunter classes at this year’s Christow Show.  With so little rain, and none in the forecast the ground is simply not safe for jumping. Please note that the horse showing classes will still go ahead, starting at 9 am.

Showing

Entrance Fee £4. Rosettes to 6th place.

  1.   Best Turned Out (open)
  2.   Lead Rein Pony (rider 8 and under; rein to be affixed to noseband)   
  3.   Assisted First Ridden (rider 10 and under; may be assisted but not led)  
  4.   First Ridden (rider 10 and under)
  5.   Best Rider (open)
  6.   Best Rider (rider 10 and under)
  7.   Best Veteran Horse or Pony (horse or pony 16 years and over)
  8.   Pony Club Pony 14.2hh and under 
  9.   Riding Club Horse over 14.3hh  and over
  10.   Best Combination (open)
  11.   Mountain and Moorland (open)
      Open to registered and non-registered ponies

Followed by Showing Championship, which is open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 149 – 159.

Working Hunter

Entrance Fee £4. Rosettes to 6th place

  1.   Working Hunter Pony. Jumps not to exceed 30cm. May be led or assisted.
  2.   Working Hunter Pony. Jumps not to exceed 40cm. 
  3.   Working Hunter. Jumps not to exceed 60cm.
  4.   Working Hunter. Jumps not to exceed 70cm.

Followed by Working Hunter Championship which is open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 160 – 163.

Show Jumping

Entrance Fee £4. Rosettes to 6th Place

  1.   Horse and Hound Relay
  2.   Lead Rein Show Jumping (poles and tiny fences)
  3.   Lead Rein Show Jumping, 30 – 40cm
  4.   Mini Show Jumping 40cm (may be assisted but not led)
  5.   Show Jumping, 50cm
  6.   Show Jumping, 60cm
  7.   Show Jumping, 70cm
  8.   Show Jumping, 80cm
  9.   Show Jumping, 90cm
      

Clear Round Show Jumping

Entrance Fee £2. Rosette for clear round.

All riders must wear BSI approved headgear. All ridden ponies must be over 4 years of age.

There will be a £2 First Aid Contribution for all Horse and Pony classes per competitor.

The Committee strongly advise all competitors to have third party insurance.
